Pretend You Are…

Posted on

If you could choose to be a fictional character, which one would you be? A challenge would be to describe not only who you are, but why you are that character, and then what your character does that makes you different.

Sometimes to be a good writer, we have to learn to think outside the extremely small box of our own existence. There is an entire street, suburb, city, county, state, country, world, and universe that is waiting to be explored. If you do not do it, who will?

Besides, who can discredit what you dream of if they cannot see inside your head?

There are so many. How would you choose? I would be so many people, and for as many different reasons. I once wrote about a writer who could kill people just by writing them dead in a story. Anyone. I would love that power; so passive, so undetectable. Not that I wish people dead. I just think, to know I had the simple yet finite power over anyone at my choosing, would be satisfyingly reaper’ish.

Jon, I never thought about having that kind of power. It would be a very fascinating but scary character to be.
