And this, my friend, is exactly what I do. I often view my writing as a lump of clay that needs to be worked on endlessly to get it sculpted perfectly into the vase that I want. Making the clay (writing the story) is always the easiest (and often the most fun) part. But it’s what we do with that clay (or pile of gibberish on paper) afterward that either makes our writing a disaster or a marvelous piece of work.
